One of my favorite things to do with my camera is making intentionally double exposed photographs whereby 2 images are superimposed in the camera, this can be done with film or digital cameras.
I create my double exposures by rotating the camera 180 degrees in between both shutter openings. When the base image has good contrast between light and shadow and and an interesting graphic subject this effect creates an alternative new visual reality without up, down, left or right.
The eye is drawn into a seemingly familiar picture but the mind quickly realizes it was set on the wrong foot once it tries to make sense of what it sees.
Houses start to float and landscapes merge in the finest Belgian surrealist tradition.
A selection of these are available as limited edition fine art prints.
